Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released notification for the tentative exam dates for the various posts in RRBs, nationalized banks and other public-sector banks. Aspirants willing to make career in banking sector were eagerly waiting for this opportunity.

How to prepare for IBPS Exam 2017?

To make the study plan for the IBPS exam 2017 preparation its necessary to know the exam pattern and the syllabus. IBPS exam pattern is been held in two tiers i.e. written exam and Interview. We will discuss exam pattern and subjects in detail below:

IBPS 2017 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

To prepare for IBPS exam 2017 candidates should know the exam pattern and subjects. According to IBPS exam patter, Written exam includes preliminary and main exam.

Preliminary Exam: It consists of three subjects:

  • English- 35 Questions
  • Quantitative aptitude- 30 Questions
  • Reasoning ability- 30 Questions
In preliminary exam 100 questions given to be solved in one hour (60 Minutes).There is negative marking of .25 marks for each wrong answer.

Main Exam: It consists of five subjects:
Main exam includes 200 questions of 200 marks to be solved in 140 minutes. These is individual time slot allotted to each subject. Negative marking of .25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Both Tier preliminary and main exam need to be clear for the final round i.e.  interview. Candidate who clears preliminary will be selected for main exam and further who will secure minimum cut off marks in main exam, will be called for interview process. 

Final selection will be made based on combined marks in main exam and in interview and will be called for the document verification and other process.

IBPS Exam 2017 Preparation Tips/Tricks

There is few time left in IBPS examination. If you didn’t start preparation it is the time to take a smart move. To prepare for IBPS exam 2017, follow these preparation tips for smart study:

Make Strategy:
  • Make strategy for the smart study. Find out in which topic you are good and which topic you need give extra attention. 
  • Make a routine to study 8 to 10 hours daily and try to study at the same time. 

Study All Topic/Subject: 
  • Make sure you cover all the topics while studying. 
  • Write down the complete syllabus and mark which topic you have completed. Make sure you didn’t leave any topic.

Time Management: 
  • Time management is important thing. 
  • Set the time limit for each subject to study daily.

Speed & Accuracy:
  • Accuracy is important concern in banking exams.
  • While practicing try to solve question accurately. 
  • Practice will improve your accuracy. 

Revision:
  • Many candidates make this mistake not to revise before the exam after preparing for long time. 
  • To revise whole topics is essential so you remember all the concepts and formulas. 
  • Revise everyday what you have studied.

Proper/ Healthy Diet:
  • Healthy food will keep you energized while studying. Don’t leave your meal. Take healthy diet in proper quantity.

  • The most important thing is to have confidence in yourself.
