IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk exam consist of two sections preliminary and mains. There will be five subjects in the both sections as follows:
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Logical Reasoning
  • English
  • General Awareness
  • Computer Knowledge
We are discussing both the sections (Preliminary and Mains) in detail.

Preliminary Exam pattern

  • There will be 100 questions of 100 marks to solve within 60 minutes.
  • Preliminary exam consists only three subjects (English, Quantitative, Reasoning).
  • There will be 30 questions for English, while Quantitative and reasoning consist remaining 70 questions (35 questions for each subject).
  • There is no time limit for individual subjects. Candidates have 3 hours to complete all the three subjects.
  • There will be negative marking (.25 for each) for wrong answers.

Mains Exam Pattern

The main exam for IBPS clerk consists of five subjects and 135 minutes to complete. There will be the individual time limit for each subject as listed below:

  • Start to solve the section first in which you are very confident. Keep time limit in mind.
  • Don’t stick with a single question. Leave the difficult questions you feel, you can’t solve.
  • Daily practice is essential to be habitual to solve the questions within a time limit.

This is the factor where maximum no. of students fail to get selected in IBPS Clerk exam. Candidates try to do solve maximum no. of questions and don’t give attention to accuracy. Accuracy is the essential factor to crack the IBPS clerk exam. 
  • Candidates need not solve all the questions. To get selected in IBPS clerk it is important to clear the cut off marks.
  • Practice to solve questions accurately rather than maximum no. of questions
