The CSIR NET exam is a prestigious exam for the individuals looking for assistant professor and research in laboratories or work as scientists.

National Testing Agency conducts CSIR NET Exam twice a year in June and December month. The current session of CSIR NET 2020 exam is going to be held on 21st June and the registration process for the same will start from 16th March to 16th April 2020.

NTA Eligibility for CSIR NET 2020 Exam


The CSIR NET exam is organize for earth, life, mathematics, physical and chemical science subjects. The science stream candidates can apply for their PG subject or its related subject only. The candidates must have following CSIR NET Eligibility Criteria.


Educational criteria: The students must have post-graduation degree with aggregate 55% marks from the UGC approved universities.

The candidates who are in final year of post-graduation or who’s result is awaited or candidates whose graduation has been complete, can also apply for CSIR NET exam. However, they must complete the PG degree with in two years to be eligible for the NET Certificate.

The BTech graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for the CSIR NET JRF only and they have to complete the master’s degree with in two years from the result declaration.

Age Limit: If we talk about the age limit, candidates can apply for CSIR NET JRF till the age of 28 years while no age limit criteria for NET lectureship.

If you are fully dedicated to CSIR NET Preparation, start your day at six in the morning and start study at 7’o clock till 11 AM. Take a break from 11 to 2 AM. Then start study again 2 to 5 PM and take a break from 5 to 7 PM. And then continue study from 7 to 11 PM. This schedule with break for some time schedule will help you to reduce the stress and improve your efficiency.

Time management play an important role in your preparation and study with breaks after 45 minutes of studying will help you to study without taking stress.

After clearing the fundamental concepts, Solve the related questions. Solve the previous year papers and mock tests to get the brief knowledge of type of questions asked in the exam and its difficulty level.
